Latex Tentacle Prop

Making a tentacle prop with pantyhose, latex, and a stuffed banana.

Directions

1. Cut the pantyhose legs off.
2. Put on your new underwear:

3. Cut the banana's head off and ~~stuff its body in one of the pantyhose legs.~~

That doesn't really look like a tentacle, sooooo.

~4. Remove most of the fluff and cut a vertical slit on the banana.

4. Roll the banana back up tighter.

I should probably note you don't really need to used a stuffed banana, a little piece of fabric would probably work just as well. No promises.

5. Stuff the banana and the rest of its fluff back into the pantyhose.

We did these next steps reverse in the video, but I think this order is better.

6. Cut out a bunch of 6mm thick foam rings for the suction cups. Laser makes it easy, but you could use anything.

7. Hot glue the rings to the pantyhose.
8. Cover the tentacle with Super 77 spray adhesive.
9. Stretch the second pair of pantyhose over the entire tentacle.

Second layer

10. Press the pantyhose in and around the foam rings so it sticks to the adhesive.

The second layer of pantyhose should smooth out the transition between the foam cutouts and tentacle.

11. Mix about a half cup of liquid latex with acrylic paint; keep adding paint till it's the color you want.

12. Paint latex onto the pantyhose. Don't goop up too thick or it'll dry really slow.

13. Add another layer, then begin mixing different colors to paint your tentacle

Finger painting

I don't have any model painting experience, so you won't find instructions here. Just try blending different colors. Don't be afraid to use your fingers, the latex dries and peels right off.
